Why use a PEMS Unit?
- To prevent airborne
hackers from stealing personal, proprietary,
or otherwise confidential information
from data stored in PDAs, Blackberries™,
cellular phones and laptops.
- If you are a government
employee or contractor, your organization,
unit, or agency may require the use of
PEMS because of EM or RF security concerns.
PEMS units are used to prevent electronic
eavesdropping or unauthorized transmission
of confidential information from restricted
areas. Cell phones and PDAs can be used
as recording and transmitting devices
without the rightful owner’s knowledge.
Storing your electronic device inside
a PEMS unit will prevent unauthorized
transmission from secure locations.
- To secure personal information
contained in new drivers’ licenses,
new credit cards and new passports that
are equipped with RFID (Radio Frequency
Identification Device) tags. The tags
in these cards contain active transmitters
that actively transmit your personal and
private information over the airwaves
as long as there is a receiving device
