Frost & Sullivan Commends EM-SEC’s Wireless Security Solution for Federal and Corporate Facilities

Palo Alto, Calif. — September 12, 2007 — Frost & Sullivan selected EM-SEC Technologies LLC as the recipient of the 2007 North American Frost & Sullivan Growth Excellence Award in the wireless security technology market.

EM-SEC Technologies’ 2060 water-based polymer coating is a remarkable tool that helps government and industry to protect wireless networks and other electromagnetic emissions from hacking and eavesdropping. The solution shields users against espionage and criminal activities such as identity theft, bank fraud, and above all, it aids national defense and homeland security.

Despite advances in encryption technologies, keys are constantly hacked and broken. The groundbreaking 2060 polymer coating blocks external access to wireless signals such as WiFi networks and cellular phone conversations irrespective of encryption.

“In addition to blocking RF emanations, the 2060 polymer coating has been certified to the highest regulatory and environmental standards because of its low environmental impact unlike other chemical coatings,” says Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Garrick Ngai. “EM-SEC Technologies is fast becoming a global leader in RF containment for federal and corporate users such as defense firms, financial institutions, and hospitals.”

The company also offers other TEMPEST solutions for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and secured corporate facilities. The 2060 polymer coating can be applied by brush, roll, or spray by general contractors. It can be applied on new and old surfaces including drywall, sheetrock, plaster, concrete, block, brick, wood, particleboard, and plastics.

Furthermore, it can be used in different locations such as corporate offices, boardrooms, server rooms, laboratories, and in areas difficult to shield through conventional means such as aluminum wall lining. The 2060 formula can also coat vehicles and other platforms to expand wireless security applications.

“The applicability of the 2060 polymer coating on common building material enables engineers to build or retrofit secured wireless spaces affordably that are beyond the usual bunker,” observes Ngai. “Compared to the security and financial cost of inaction, the 2060 RF solution is both affordable and prudent for organizations big and small. Various organizations have fallen victim to hackers or spies accessing wireless signals with simple antennas in parked cars outside of unprotected buildings.”

Most organizations have yet to adopt multi-layered approaches to wireless security partly because of their unfamiliarity with established standards such as TEMPEST and SCIF. EM-SEC aims to educate potential users about SCIF and RF emanations due to vulnerability of sensitive data in unshielded buildings.

“EM-SEC anticipates and responds to a client’s security requirements with its value-added approach to wireless security,” notes Ngai. “EM-SEC professionals offer important services such as site evaluation, risk and threat assessment, and turnkey solutions to maximize wireless security and to minimize disruptions.”

Each year, this Award is presented to the company that has demonstrated excellence in implementing and sustaining growth through unique growth strategies in its field. Frost & Sullivan, through this exhaustive selection process, seeks to identify a company that has exhibited excellence in all its functional areas, resulting in sustained financial growth.
